Let's get together to discuss things that help us with our chronic illness! Join if you have RA, fibromyalgia, lupus, or any other chronic illness that burdens you. Getting together with others who have the same illness can be very comforting. My goal is to have a group where one can find new ways of coping with their illness, learn more about their illness, and have a place to release stress. I'd like to have a chance to have speakers come in and talk about all aspects of chronic illnesse …
Unlike an acute illness, a chronic disease doesn't go away. It's difficult on relationships and hard to find support. My hope is to create a support group to offer constructive tips on how to cope with various problems. A chance to get together just to speak our minds and compare notes or to plan fun outings and activities that are fun but not too demanding physically. An opportunity to meet new people and make new friends.
Gluten is a fabulous wheat protein that makes up some of our favorite foods. It's especially cherished by people who are vegan and often use seitan in place of animal flesh as a option. Let's relish it and support those who make their living selling products containing it. Chicago Gluten Gluttons will host fundraiser dine-outs featuring glutenous options with proceeds going towards autoimmune disease research.
I want to gather a great group of people who have lupus that want to meet others who share in their experiences. You know, just to have fun and be around others who just "GET IT". Some meetups will be spur of the moment (extra spoon day) and some will be planned far in advance (saving spoons/trade a spoon day). We will hang out in great coffee shops, gather at a spa or two, have tea, watch movies, read books, and have other fun outings. The purpose of this group is to give us lots of activities …
